HIGH LIGHT PLANTS

14" Black Aralia

A plant for the collector

Latin name: Polyscias quilfoylei 'Crispa'
Native to: Unknown

14" Chicken Gizzard Aralia

"Geranium-leaf Aralia"

Latin name: Polyscias crispatum
Native to: Brazil

14" Ming Aralia

"Panax Aralia"

Latin name: Polyscias fruticosa
Native to: Polynesia, Malaysia and India

14" Cereus Peruvianus

"Column Cactus" or "Tree Cactus"

Latin name: Cereus peruvianus
Native to: Unknown, possibly a hybrid

This cactus can be found in several forms. With or without spines, straight or twisted/spiraled stems. Single trunks are most common, on rare occasion branched plants can be found. Cereus peruvianus can produce very large white flowers once a year that open very late at night. You have to get up early in the morning to see them. Look closely and you can see flower buds just starting to grow on this one. Click here to see the flower

14" Cocos Plumosa

"Queen Palm"

Latin name: Arecastrum romanzoffianum
Native to: Argentina and Bolivia

A tall, narrow palm with long upright branches and a single trunk. The thin leaves tend to hang downward. Use in high light areas. We have seen them planted outdoors during the summer.

14" Euphorbia Dupifera

A very unusual high light plant

Latin name: Euphorbia dupifera
Native to: Unknown - if you know give us a call

If you need a high light plant that can tolerate semi-drought conditions, this is it. We may not have this plant in stock at all times.

14" Eugenia 2 Ball Topiary

"Australian brush-cherry"

Latin name: Eugenia myrtifolia
Native to: New S. Whales and Queensland

A great small leaved plant that would be a good alternative to Ficus. These trees are groomed into a 2 ball topiary. Here's a real treat... an Eugenia flower.

14" Ficus Alii Standard

A narrow leaved Ficus

Latin name: Ficus binnendijkii 'Alii'
Native to: Man made hybrid

A good choice for a client that wants a tree with a different look.

14" Ficus Amstel King Braid

A member of the "Ficus of the Future" line

Latin name: Ficus binnendijkii 'Amstel'
Native to: Man made hybrid

Ficus "Amstel King" is a newer hybrid Ficus that looks similar to "Alii". This plant is part of the Ficus of the Future line.

14" Ficus Amstel King Standard

Latin name: Ficus binnendijkii 'Amstel'
Native to: Man made hybrid

This plant looks very similar to "Alii" except it has wider leaves. We hear it is eaiser to keep than "Alii".

14" Ficus Benji Multi Stem Standard

"Weeping Fig"

Latin name: Ficus Benjamina
Native to: India and Malaya

This is a new item here at the Ranch. These plants are basically three standards in one pot. Be sure to keep up with the watering.

14" Ficus Lyrata Standard

"Fiddle-leaf Fig"

Latin name: Ficus lyrata
Native to: Tropical West Africa

Also known as Ficus pandurata. A large leaved Ficus sutible for high light. Eaiser to care for than other Ficus.

14" Ficus Midnight 3 Ball Standard

A member of the "Ficus of the Future" line

Latin name:Ficus benjamina "Midnight"
Native to: Man made hybrid

Here is a formal high end Ficus. They do not require much real estate, so they would be an excellent choice for entry ways. Try elevating them a couple of feet for a different look. These plants are potted in high quality potting soil.

14" Ficus Midnight Quad Braid

This our our top of the line Ficus braid. There is eight stems braided together in on open weave fashion. Also called an Euroweave.

14" Ficus Midnight Standard

Latin name: Ficus benjamina "Midnight"

Native to:Man made hybrid

Who ever created this plant did a great job. It really does hold it's foliage much better than benjamina. The leaves are glossy green that look nearly black.

14" Ficus Monique Open Weave Braid

A member of the "Ficus of the Future" line

Latin name: Ficus benjamina "Monique"
Native to: Man made hybrid

Open weaved trunks are the next level up in braids. They are created by braiding the trunks around a pipe. When the trunks have fused, the pipe is removed leaving a window pane type braid. These plants come in a high quality potting soil.
